Two + Four = Tractor Party!

Once upon a time in the land of green and gold, there was another green and gold that had nothing to do with football and everything to do with tractors.  But its allegiance was just as strong, just as glad-hearted.  Although there were no running backs to cheer on this weekend, we had lots of green tractors, and nothing runs like a Deere.  The stars of our team – Jack #4 & Jamison #2.  I’m also happy to report that no fans were thrown out in attendance to this game due to disorderly conduct or unruly team spirit.  Just a lot of fun birthday merriment.

Poor Jamison, for the life of him, could not figure out why mama kept putting all his John Deere tractors on the table.  First of all, he wanted to play with them.  Secondly, daddy always reminds him to play with his tractors on the floor, not on the table.  He was very concerned with this crazy new twist his mom was spinning and quite relieved the next day when all tractors were returned to their proper homes in sheds, barns and cubbies.

There was cake…

And presents…

And some more tomfoolery…

I even finished Jamison’s quilt on time.  And, while I wasn’t expecting Jamison to get super excited about his quilt (since his brother promptly dumped his on the ground upon opening on his 2nd birthday), Jamison was excited.  He loved it and I’m so pleased with how it turned out.

Our parting gift – a garden spade, gloves and sunflower seeds.  Dear winter, please, please let us get outside and start planting soon.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I love this little picture, too.  Something about little boys in overalls.  Their hands in their pockets chatting away like old men?  Cuteness personified.

Have a great week all.

Loved how it turned out! Also loved how you used the buckets for the dirt cakes 🙂 Glad that Jamison like his new quilt. Haven’t tried my hands at a rag quilt yet but it’s on my to-do list 🙂

Thanks Meena! Jamison wasn’t quite sure what he thought about that dirt cake and candle… until he tested it! This is the 3rd rag quilt I made and I think I finally have the kinks worked out. But your a pro, so you could probably whip one right up!
